Now it's the top social media website used by people all around the world. People use it mainly to keep up with their friends and family no matter where they are in the world. With Facebook's status feature, Facebook users can share their thoughts or views on many things such as politics. When that status is published, is it then shared to all your Facebook friends through a "timeline." Facebook is amazing for business as everything you post about spreads quicker on Facebook which makes it an easy way to promote. It also allows businesses to interact with its consumers as it allows customers to post their opinions which creates a great connection.

You can change your profile picture to be anything you want whether you want to change it permanently or temporarily. Recently, Facebook has added a new feature which allows its users to, instead of a picture, add a profile video. Just like the profile picture (or video) users can also customise their cover photo which is just like a background picture for your profile photo or video. Facebook also allows you to choose whether or not you want to add and display publicly your date of birth, location, hometown, education, work and many more.

Facebook is a great way to connect with people all around the world whether they're your friend or family. It's easy due to many features such as phone calls. This can only be done if you have added your phone number and the person who you're trying to contact has also done the same. An alternative way of calling are video calls. Those can be done without using your phone number. Instead, it uses your wifi or mobile data. Facebook also has an instant messaging feature which gives users the ability to instant message their Facebook friends. If you're wanting to chat to one or more friends at a time, you can do so due to the groupchat feature.

Tools

Facebook is known for its many tools and features; one of those tools being tagging. Tagging allows used to add pictures of their Facebook friends and tag them in the pictures to let others know who's in the photo. With tagging you can also share a post and tag your friend in it to let people know that you're with that friend right now as you're sharing that very post. Another great Facebook tool is the well known "like" tool. With likes, users can show their friends some support by liking their post or picture that they've added. Recently Facebook has added a new update to the "like" feature. Now instead of just liking a picture, you can also show support by clicking one of these under the picture:

Etiquette

Facebook has many etiquettes which users should strictly follow in order to socialise without offending any of the many other Facebook users. One of those etiquettes is being respectful to one's opinion. If someone posts their opinion that you disagree with, there is no reason to disrespect their view on things. Creating irrelevant drama will not amount to anything. Another Facebook etiquette is not post disrespectful images. Pictures that you have taken of other people and posted on Facebook without their knowledge can be reported and later deleted by the Facebook team. This also includes pictures that promote nudity or sensitive subjects.

Throughout Twitter there's a lot of features which are ready for your customisation. Your Twitter profile can be changed in many ways such as changing your icon, header, location or bio. Your icon is just like your Facebook profile picture; it's used to let other users know what you look like. A header is used to add a background picture to your profile, perhaps something you're interested in. Users use their bio to let others know what they're interested in or to tell others a little more about themselves. Among with the location section, which allows you to add your current location, there's also a section on your profile which allows you to add your website to let other users who visit your profile see it whether it's a business website or maybe even a personal blog.

Connect

There's many ways to connect with people through Twitter. With the "reply" feature, users can easily reply to Tweets by others. There's also an instant messaging feature called a "Direct Message" which helps users communicate with each other. Twitter is widely known for the hashtag feature. This allows users see what is trending whether it's in their location or maybe worldwide. Adding a hashtag to your tweet helps other users notice your tweet if they search for it. This allows wider connection among many Twitter users and helps businesses promote.

Tools

Twitter is mostly known for the "follow" tool which allows users follow other users whether it's someone very well known and famous, or a friend, or maybe just a stranger with common interests. With the "retweet" button, users can share other tweets with their own followers to show support to that particular tweet. Next to the "retweet" button, there's also a very useful "like" button (formerly called "favourite" but later replaced in 2015) which allows you to "like" a tweet and show support or agreement. Twitter also allows you to "quote" other users' tweets. This lets users add their opinion to someone else's tweet whether they agree with it or not.

Etiquette

Twitter has a very obvious etiquette as it's very similar to that of Facebook. Users may report your tweet if they include racist, homophobic, sexist etc. content which then gets forwarded to Twitter support who may or may not delete your tweet, or even ban you on Twitter for it. Twitter is also against nudity or some sensitive subjects and posting those may also result in being permanently or temporarily banned.
